Hospital bags are for patients admitted as an emergency when they have not had the opportunity to pack. They contain items such as:
Toothbrush and toothpaste, soap, shower gel, flannel, paper handkerchiefs, a comb, emery board, deodorant, and a card.
Julie Lingham lawjuad@btinternet.com 07828987980 who lives in Ashington is happy to collect bags for hospitals in the Northumbria Health Care Trust.
Branches in Newcastle also make up bags economically by buying in bulk and obtaining gifted items from ASDA. The bags go to the RVI and to the Freeman Hospitals and are distributed by the Chaplaincy. Donations towards the cost of these can be made to the MU Diocesan Projects fund.
The new posters being delivered to wards has created a surge in interest – so bags are back in demand. | |
