“The Friends” of Newcastle Diocese Mothers` Union

Who are they?

The Friends of Mothers` Union can be existing members, their friends or relatives, and others in the wider community who are in sympathy with our Aims and Objects.  By their prayers, work and financial support they help to maintain the work of the Mothers` Union.  Some are members of the Church of England, others may belong to other denominations or to none.  Some will be people who have now moved away from this area but still wish to support the work we are doing.

What do they do?

The Friends meet twice a year, usually on a Saturday.  An update on Mothers` Union work in the Diocese is followed by a speaker, someone who will talk on a subject relevant to the work of M.U.  A short time of prayer and worship preceeds a buffet lunch.

All Friends receive the M.U. Diocesan Journals.  A modest subscription enables the Friends to donate to an agreed M.U. project.
